From our home base in Encinitas, CA, we work with a select roster of songwriters and artists to publish songs that carry emotional weight and timeless appeal—spanning Americana, blues, gospel, pop, and inspired original children’s music.

Since 1981, our mission has been to support songwriters in bringing their work to a wider world. We specialize in placing music in film, television, advertising, and other creative platforms—making it easier for great songs to be discovered, shared, and covered. Every piece in our catalog is chosen for its storytelling power, melodic strength, and potential to elevate a visual or emotional moment.

John Hildebrand

Founder, Engineer, Producer, and Educator

John Hildebrand is the visionary behind Desert Windsong Publishing and American Windsong Music. With a career spanning over four decades, he is a highly respected engineer, producer, musician, educator, and studio consultant. His expertise extends across music and print publishing, and he is a proud member of the Audio Engineering Society (AES).
